free movies!!!!!

who doesn't like free anything?
well there are sites that you can down load free movies. with all the constant changes in how are tv's work. the possiblity of free movies is a very good one. i know that i wouldn't want to spend money to buy movies that i really like to not be able to watch them because tv's and dvd player are no longer the same.
so is free the way to go?
i think so but i don't know if the movie industry will will like it, they don't the money on free movies that they get when we buy them.

  1. It will be a long, long time before we see free movies make their way into the mainstream. There are still salaries to be paid, royalties to be paid and trailers to be produced that the movie industry could never release something as substantial as a feature-length movie free to the public. The almighty dollar has to much pull in most, if not all industries today, and until we live in a Star Trek-esque universe where money has no meaning, you'll be stuck paying $10 for a movie ticket and your first born for a popcorn and soda!

  2. Its all about the green. if it didn't cost mllions to make movies.. who know, maybe the poeple who charge the production company ( prop warehouses, equipment costs ect..) perhaps they up-charge and over charge the people makign the movie thus increasing the cost of the movie thus increasing the ticket price. And actors egos... for get it

  3. Free movies I don't think that would ever happen. Like the other posts states is all about green and there are people to be paid too. If the movies go free how would they pay the actors, producers and so on. Movie theaters would not like that idea either. Again is about the green they would loss allot of it.

  4. Definitely not happening...The best that you are going to get is the pirated material you can download at your own risk, or the street vendor that downloaded a movie and burnt 500 copies to make some scratch. The media market is one of THE most well paid. How could they ever afford actors salaries with they were selling there work for free. That would be an attack on the economy.

  5. I agree with the other comments - free (legal) movies is an impossibility. It costs money to make a movie - no one is going to invest in making a movie knowing they are not going to get that money back. Would you pay loads of money and spend most of your time on a job had have it just given away? By the way, these sites that you can download free movies are probably (technically) illegal (like p2p file sharing).

  6. Yeah dont see how movies could ever be "free" and still be legal. Money needs to be recouped somehow or no one would ever invest in it.

  8. Pirating movies will always be out there. I do not see the movie industry ever allowing for "free" movies, but it is possible that through deals with the film industry and networks, movies being "free" on demand with a subscription is possible, and right now is reality to an extent. Premiums such as HBO or Cinemax allow subscribers through Comcast, Verizon, or other similar providers to watch certain movies for free, on demand, during particular time windows. I do see these time frames opening up and the selection increasing.

  9. It would be great to see this happen. I hate purchasing movies then watching them only a few times before I through it back into my collection of dvds. How could anybody be against getting free movies at any time.
