  1. WOW!! With all the movies available to us it is easy to forget about such classics as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. This is a much see for any age in its orginal form.

  2. This is one of my daughters favorite movies from Disney and it just happens to be their first. Young or old the classics never seem to die.

  3. I had absolutely no clue that Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs dated all the way back to the late 30s! Maybe I am naive but for some reason I always assumed the movie debuted in the late 80s! Very interesting how a movie so old is continually recreated and just improvised as technology advances

  4. Some of these movies are just classics and one might get “the stink eye” if he or she hasn’t seen a classic movie. Even though that was in the past, Disney still makes good animated movies and that seems to be the direction people are going. There is no more drawn cartoons, everything is becoming animated.

  6. This is a good movie. The art used in this is more than they use in all the movies today. This is a work of art. My nephews first words were Hi Ho Hi Ho. Great movie.

  7. Disney and his Dwarfs were a big hit in the 30's during the depression. It helped cheer people (maybe we should re-introduce it). I know that Shirley Temple was introduced soecifically to brighten people's lives during that time. Technology uplifting society.

  9. I remember having this movie on VHS and watching it as a child. Its crazy to consider how far animation has come when you compare Snow White to movies like Shrek today.

  10. I remember watching this movie when I was younger. It's pretty impressive that movies that were created so long ago are still being watched by kids all over the world.

  11. One thing about animated movies is that it's harder to estimate how old the movie is. You can always spot an older movie because it's in black and white but animated makes things a little more difficult. Also the themes of animated movies always seem to be able to be applied to any generation. I guess that's what makes it possible for someone (Kristen's comment) to be able to think that a movie that was released in the 30s, came out in the 80s. The fact that they are constantly remaking older animated films in order to continue to create revenue can also make the dating process difficult.

  12. Interesting to know that Snow White was the first Disney movie! I would of thought it would of been something with Mickey Mouse. Snow White is still pretty popular too...along with the dwarfs.

  13. While not the birth of a legend, it is still a momentous occasion. What this shows is a clear testament to surviving the test of time. Consider that most other movies from that time are no longer with us. Also consider the length of time it took to make that movie. Every individual frame had to be hand-drawn. There were no computers. There was no copy machine. Even a simple action such as putting on a hat would take a considerable amount of time, compared to an actor putting on a hat in a matter of seconds.

  14. I didn't know that Snow white and the Seven Dwarfs was the first Disney movie. I also didn't know it came out in the 30's. They don't make movies like this one or any of the older Disney movies anymore.

  15. I did not know Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the first movie either. Like I have always been saying, its amazing to see what Disney has evolved into. Ranging from the theme parks to their own Television station, technology has definitely helped them evolve into a Amusement Giant.

  16. I never knew Snow White was the first movie. I would have thought it was Mickey or Minnie! They are like the disney mascots. Snow White is my favorite movie. It def cheers me up in bad times!

  17. Walt Disney was decades ahead of his time but managed to make his ideas appeal to the general public, pure genius. It is evident in Disney's current success. Any movie made by them has many layers of quality and exceeds its purpose weather if its a kids animated motion picture or live action adventure of pirates.

  18. This movie obviously sparked one of the great recognizable culture icons today - Walt Disney. Their impact on culture and society are astounding, and the innovative way they did it shows how they had a grasp of the science of movie-making.

  19. Wow- I never knew Snow White was the first disney movie! That is one I never got into. I would have guessed Sleeping Beauty to be one of the firsts- Or maybe even Cinderella.

  20. It has always amazed me how old Snow White is. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been to animate with the technology back then.

  21. I had no idea that this movie was so old! I remember watching it as a child and now my niece is watching it. I honestly didn't think that they had the technology to make a movie like this in the 30s. It must have taken years for them to produce it...not like now where it only takes a few months from start to finish.

  22. Snow White was such a great movie! It's still so popular how many years later? Of all the movies made by Disney, I had no idea that this was the very first. Some things stay around for so long and dont seem to get old. This is one of them

  23. I never knew that Snow white was the first ever Disney movie. Everyone must see this movie and show it to their children atleast once in their lifetime.

  24. Did you know that major critics in Disney's time called Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Disney's Folly? No one thought that Disney could create a full-length animated film! It was bound to be a disaster! It was, in fact, bigger than Disney himself ever imagined! Tickets to see the film went for less than ten cents and Disney still pulled in over a million dollars! Some folly, huh?
